1. Agreement to these terms
By accessing design-profiler.oup.com (the "site") or subscribing to the Tuesday letter, you agree to these terms of use. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms are between you and the design-profiler Collective ("we", "us").
2. The service
The site is an editorial publication: articles, tutorials, interactive demos, and a weekly email newsletter about design engineering. It is provided free of charge, requires no account, and may be updated, changed, or discontinued at any time.
3. Content & code licensing
- Articles, imagery, and design. All written content, photography, illustrations, and the site's design are © design-profiler — All Rights Reserved. You may quote brief excerpts with attribution and a link to the original piece. Full republication or translation requires our prior written permission; ask us; we usually say yes to non-commercial requests.
- Code samples. The code snippets embedded in articles and playground demos are released under the MIT License: use them in your projects, commercial or not, with no attribution required (though a link back is always appreciated).
- Trademarks. "design-profiler" and the ◈ mark identify this publication and may not be used to imply endorsement.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the site. In particular, you will not:
- attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the site's availability or security;
- scrape the site's content at scale for republication or for training commercial datasets without permission;
- misrepresent our content as your own, or misrepresent yourself as us;
- use the contact addresses to send unsolicited commercial mail.
6. Third-party links
Articles link generously to external resources: specifications, MDN, vendor blogs, datasets. Those sites are outside our control; a link is a citation, not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for their content or availability.
7. Disclaimer
The site is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep technical claims accurate and current, and we publicly correct our mistakes, but the web platform changes weekly, and nothing here is professional advice for your specific project. Browser support data, in particular, reflects the state at the time of writing; verify against current sources before shipping.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content, including bugs shipped to production after reading one of our tutorials. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version, and material changes will be noted in the Tuesday letter. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
10. General
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. These terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the site and supersede any prior understandings on the subject.
11. Contact
Questions about these terms: info@design-profiler.oup.com, or via the contact page.
